TrueMedia.Org is a non-profit, non-partisan AI project to fight disinformation in political campaigns by identifying manipulated media. The project is backed by Camp.org and led by Oren Etzioni.
What we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will need strong foundational skills in front-end and back-end that enables you to drive features to completion while tactfully navigating through the unknowns. You are able to break down a complex problem into smaller modules to be able to continuously deliver progress for the team.
You ideally have experience with React, Vercel, Tailwind CSS, Postgres, and integrating machine learning models in user interfaces.
How you will contribute
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Delivering user experiences to our users in government, political campaigns, and news organizations
Development of new features across clients and owning delivery all the way to production
Designing and implementing technical specifications of the features while adhering to the long term technical vision and roadmap
Striving to improve the bar of the product in areas of quality, performance, scale and reliability
Thoughtfully suggesting improvements and feedback on technology and processes
Qualifications
6+ years experience as a Software Engineer
Experience building and shipping end-to-end features, with consideration for security, performance, scalability, and modularity
Comfortable working across the technology stack to deliver well tested code into production
Ability to resolve ambiguities early on and help create architectural roadmap for a long term scalable solution
Growth mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Previous startup experience or building machine learning tools is a plus
Technology stack
Though this role mainly focuses on the web application, familiarity with the technologies used in other parts of our system is a plus.

Location
The team is headquartered in Fremont, Seattle, WA. Availability for weekly in-person meetings on Mondays is a plus, but remote candidates will be considered.
